Kathy

Enterprise Retail Space Manager at University of the Arts: London

After graduating in 2011 (BA Hons English Literature with Creative Writing), I spent seven years back in my native California working in retail management. In 2018, inspired by my amazing experience living in Norwich for my undergraduate studies, I moved back to the UK to take a leadership role at Anthropologie’s EU flagship store on Regent Street in London. I’ve recently transitioned into a role at University of the Arts: London (UAL), supporting students and alumni as the manager of not just a shop

Being on the UEA WAN Committee continues to be a bright spot in my personal life and we’re always open to hearing how we can better serve our alumni community.

Beth

Relationship Management Executive – London, South East & East at The Law Society

I studied History for my undergrad and then stayed on at UEA to do an MA in Modern European History, which finished in 2014.

Following my studies I briefly moved home to Lincolnshire for a year (and a bit), where I worked part time for the charity Sense and part time in a local law firm. I now work at the Law Society in the Relationship Management team. The Law Society is a membership organisation who represent, promote and support solicitors in England and Wales. My role is focused on strategic engagement with our members.

UEA WAN was really created to fill a void that I think a lot of us feel after graduation. Personally, moving back to my hometown was quite isolating and I felt very disconnected (both socially and with what I wanted to be doing work-wise!) The network is a way for graduates to keep connected and helps provide opportunities for them to be supported in terms of professional development/networking.

Outside out work, as well as being involved in the UEA Women’s Alumni Network, I volunteer with GirlGuiding UK as a Brownie leader and I enjoy researching genealogy and swimming.

Pippa

Marketing and Projects Manager at Moorwand

Hi, I’m Pippa! I graduated from UEA in Business Management back in 2013 after 3 lovely years in Norwich. I now live in London with my partner and two cats, and work in Marketing for a Financial Technology company. I started my career in Marketing as soon as I finished university and have had a very wide range of experience ever since. On the side, I run two networking groups, have a podcast with my friend Laura, and also a blog that I’ve been doing for 10 years. I joined the UEA WAN committee as I wanted to stay connected to UEA and help any alumni members to connect with others, and promote the awesome people who have graduated from the uni.

Poppy

Solutions Engineer at Rubicon Project

I graduated UEA in 2012 having completed a Secondary PGCE in Religious Studies. Since graduating from UEA I worked for 5 years in the childcare and education sector. Here I pursued a career as a teacher, completed a Masters in Psychology and even helped to run a kids club on the Greek Island of Kos!

Today, my work has shifted significantly following a career reconversion into Software Engineering. I now work in Advertising Technology, a sector which I love for it’s innovation.

In my spare time I like to walk, code and learn French.

My bittersweet graduation from dear old UEA was in 2012. Bitter = no more Pimp My Barrow. Sweet = a Film & English B.A. under my belt and a hilarious set of memories (mostly from Pimp My Barrow)

Since then I’ve been lucky enough to have an interesting career in Broadcast Media, working on TV promotional campaigns ranging from FOX’s The Walking Dead to the Premier League on Sky Sports.

Currently taking a career break to undertake some volunteering, which has certainly been interesting during this time!

UEAWAN is a great network to be a part of, I love the supportive nature of the group and being able to relive UEA memories.
